LBYSO was formed in 1983 as a volunteer-run, fully independent youth soccer league serving the Long Beach area. We are a member of US Club Soccer, Cal South and, by extension, the US Soccer Federation and US Youth Soccer. LBYSO follows their rules and guidelines, with minor LBYSO league specific adjustments.

LBYSO's mission is to provide a safe, low cost and organized environment in our community for young players of all ages and playing abilities to learn the basics of the game. Thereby enhancing our youth's well-being, self-esteem, sense of sportsmanship and creating a lifelong passion for the sport of soccer. We aim to positively impact the development of youth and to help raise the level of soccer in our city.
