U12 player Max Schauweker presents $400 check to Team Spirit to support cancer support programs at LB Memorial.
Some good stuff happened at Picture Day and LBYSO gave back to the community.
As some know, LBYSO lost two moms to cancer this past year. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our Pink Ribbon jersey patch fundraiser led to a $400 donation to Team Spirit Long Beach in support of Todd Cancer Institute at Long Beach Memorial. One of the two moms was Deborah "Deb" Schauweker who passed away this year. Her son, Max, a U12 LBYSO player, was there along with several members of the LBYSO Board to present the check to Stacie Baker, a founding member of Team Spirit.
We also invited LB Rescue Mission out to collect holiday food donations. Teams got pictures handled. And of course, some great soccer was played.
Thank you to all who participated.
