TEAM MANAGEMENT TIPS

• Don't do all the work yourself. Get parents to help with set up and clean up.

• Pick a practice day/time/location convenient for yourself but be considerate of you team's parents.

• Recruit another parent to act as Team Manager to handle side duties like uniform pickup, team banner, game day snacks, picture day, etc. Team Managers must register with LBYSO Risk Management.

• Recruiting an assistant coach for general help or to cover in your absence. Assistant coaches must register with LBYSO Risk Management.

• LBYSO issues an equipment pack to head coaches. If you want extra gear, consider like practice goal(s), extra balls, etc, don’t be shy about asking parents to pitch in for the basics. Have players bring a ball to practice.

• Create a group chat via Playmetrics or text messaging with your team as soon as possible to establish regular communication.
